Bhopal’s premier private university, the AISECT University is organising an International Conference on Emerging Trends in Science and Technology (ICETST- 2014) on 14th and 15thFebruary. The Conference will act as a platform for bringing together leading academics, industry leaders and research scholars working in the field of environmental sciences, engineering and technology to exchange and share their views on the impact of science and technology on environment and society for inclusive growth the recent developments and trends within the sector. The conference, which will take place in the premises of the university, will witness participation from representatives from eight international universities from Germany, UK, US, Korea, Spain and eight Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Dr. Dipankar Dassarma, Professor and Chairman of Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore will grace the event as the guest of honor. The conference will be highlighting themes like ‘Avoidance and Management of Disaster with Advanced Technological Track’, ‘Green Technologies and Green Chemistry’, ‘Energy Generation & Management’, ‘Nanotechnology and Biotechnology’ and‘Heavy Industries and Manufacturing System’. Meanwhile, keynote speakers like Prof A.K Dixit from IIT Mumbai, Prof. Claudia Wickleder from the University of Siegen (Germany), Prof. Duc Young Jeon from KAIST University (Korea) and Prof. F. J. Manjon from Universit at Politècnica de València (Spain) will present their outlook on the impact of environment and society for inclusive growth. Commenting on this, Mr Santosh Kumar Choubey, the Chancellor of AISECT University said, “It is a privilege for our university to host an international event of this sort in its premises. Environmental pollution has been a cause of concern for the entire mankind. It requires immediate scientific attention to find appropriate and cost effective solutions. The event will turn into a platform for new collaborations where experts of the related field from across the world will put their words forward on topics like pollution detection, environmental remediation, and pollution prevention. Meanwhile, for our students, it would be a golden opportunity to witness such eminent scholars and academicians from various countries present their take on such a global issue.”The conference also aims at pursuing the research to invent environment friendly gadgets like Green Smart phones, Hybrid Car, Photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal collector technology.
